What’s In The Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak Box?

The outside of the cloak is a gorgeous velvet covered in mystical symbols and spells. And the print is very clever and gives a depth to the cloak that makes it look a little like the text and images are moving. It also feels nice to wear in that there’s a nice weight to the cloak so it feels a cloak of substance.
The inside of the cloak is lined with good quality green fabric that allows the green screen technology to work. It’s a nice full cloak (not as full as the cloak in the movie and quite long (just drags along the floor when I’m wearing it at 5ft 4 inches) so it can be used by both adults and kids. It does up with one hook and eye clasp just under the chin.
The tripod is ok and allows you to get on and use the cloak quickly and easily but you will find it a little limiting, especially if you want your phone to be more upright or even lean forward slightly.
How Does The Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak Work?
The magical illusion works using the same green screen technology that was to make the film. In fact, the cloak is as good a duplicate as you can get. The team at Wow! Stuff worked directly off the original Harry Potter Cloak used in the Movie, to create their Invisibility Cloak. Listen to the CEO of Wow! Stuff explains how they did it below.
Each cloak comes with its own unique authentication code that is used to unlock the Invisibility Section of the free downloadable Wow! Stuff App for ios and android.
Downloading the app is straightforward and you will be asked to enter your unique code and set up a user name and password to login. Once in you select the invisibility Cloak icon and follow the instructions.
To make yourself appear invisible using the cloak you take a still photo of the background you want to use with in the Wow! Stuff App (so in the case of our videos we took a picture of the garden with no one in it). Then you can either take a photo or a video of yourself wearing the cloak. When you wear the cloak with the pattern showing it looks like a cloak. But when you reverse it, and show the green lining, everything behind the green lining disappears, and just the background image you took shows though. Thus making you look invisible… and it’s really impressive!
We love the cloak and how easy it is to use. Once you’ve shown the kids how to use the app they can easily go off and take their own fun photo’s and movies. And it’s just as much fun for adults. It would be a fantastic ice breaker for parties and make a brilliant photo booth for corporate events and Balls.
It’s aged 6+ and has an RRP of £59.99 with a Deluxe version available for £69.99. I really rate the cloak. It’s easy to use, and can and will be used by all ages. Plus if you’re a Harry Potter fan you’re going to love the attention to detail that makes this cloak feel so real!
