I love decorating the house for Halloween but I like to make it a mix of decorations that also hint of Autumn so I can put them up early and keep them up until Christmas starts to creep in.

Materials For Paper Pumpkin Craft
- Coloured card stock – orange, purple, black, green
- Pipecleaners – orange, purple, black
- Bostik Blu Stick
- Bostik White Glue
- Scissors
- String
- 2″ circle cookie cutter or 2″ circle paper punch or Cricut Maker
- Leaf Paper Punch

The Cricut Maker is a really fast way of cutting numerous circles on one go. Use a circle shape and set it to 2″ in size. I used A4 sized card and managed to cut 20 circles from each piece of card.

Cookie Cutters work just as well and the 2″ cookie cutter is a nice size for children to practice drawing around shapes and cutting out curves. It doesn’t matter if the circle isn’t smooth as that can add charming character to the pumpkins

2″ circle punches are another quick way to create circle you just need to make sure you place the punch carefully each time so that you don’t waste paper. This size and shape also make nice gift tags if you’re looking for an excuse to buy it!
How To Make your Paper Pumpkins
Cut out your paper circles and fold them in half (you will need seven circle per pumpkin) and cut your pipe cleaners into 5cm lengths.

Cut thin strips of green-card from the small length of the A4 card and use a hole punch (if you have one to punch out leaf shapes.

Curl the pipe cleaners into number 6/9 shapes. This will be the pumpkin stalk and be used to hang the pumpkin on the garland string.

Using the Bostik Blue Stick glue the edges of all seven of the semi-circles together, one at a time, leaving the last two edges unglued.

Add a blob of Bostik PVA (white glue) to the top of the card and place one of the pipe cleaner stalks on to it. Cover one of the unglued semicircles in Bostik Blu Stick and carefully glue the final ends of the Paper Pumpkin together. You may need to wiggle the pipe cleaner a little into the small ‘natural hole’ that forms in the centre of the pumpkin.

Curl one of the long thin strips of green card around a smooth pencil. place a little glue on one end and slide it carefully into the paper pumpkin along with a green leaf.

Finally, gently flatten the pumpkin and a small piece of the base off so that it has a flat end.

Finally, hook the curled part of the stalk over some coloured garden twine and secure in place with some Bosik Blu Tak.
