44 Cats Animated Tv Show
In case you haven’t heard of it 44 Cats follows the daily adventures of Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball, also known as The Buffycats – from the name of their band. The Buffycats get shelter inside a garage on Granny Pina’s property and transform it into their clubhouse. You can watch the show on Pop each day and now kids can re-enact their favourite parts of the show with these 44 Cats Toys.
44 Cats Toys; Musical Soft Toys
The musical soft toys are 8 inches tall, and as mentioned already there are 4 to collect: Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball. We were sent Meatball and Lampo. Unpacking them is easy and requires the careful snipping of three plastic tags in both legs and the head.
Each cat will play the original 44 cats theme tune when you squeeze their middle. Unfortunately, there is no off button. But a velcro seal, in the back of each cat allows you to change the battery… or not, depending how much you love musical toys!
They are beautifully soft to touch with colourful facial detail stitched on. The expressions are super cute and the colours are lovely and bright. So they will be a big hit with kids who don’t watch the show as well as those who follow the show on TV..
44 Cats Toys; Club House playsets
There are three Club House playsets to collect within the 44 Cats Toys range. All of them have a removable card paw print inside so keep that as it makes a cute rug to go with the playset. The packaging contains a lot of plastic and a pair of scissors will be required to snip all the playset components free.
Pilou’s Place
Pilou has a drum to sleep in with a removable cushion. She also has her favourite pasta dish to eat, windmills that spin and a cute mirror that moves. The mirror can be lifted out but doesn’t stand up on its own and Pilou cannot hold it.
She’s quite solid on her legs which makes her easy to stand up. Her legs don’t move independently but you can twist them at her waist. You can also twist her head, lift her arms up and down plus her tail can be moved as well.
Lampo’s Place
Lampo has all his trophies and books, set within his trusty guitar case. His chair moves up and down by moving the fish on the side of his guitar case. Watch out for his tail as it can get in the way when he sits in the chair. We found it best to hook it through one of the arms. His bedding sits in the bottom of his guitar case.
Lampo’s set also includes a tasty pie and the clothes he is wearing are exclusive to this set!
Milady’s Place
Milady’s Place is our favourite. She has her bed area sitting on an old purple oil drum. This has a door that can be opened to store thing.s Attached to the side of the oil drum is large wheel that spins so you can carefully move this set around. There’s a tall bit of piping coming from the wheel that has two shelves that can clip on and off. And at the top of the pip is a lampshade.
Milady also has a cool pair of sunglasses that can be slid over her eyes . They can be removed easily and sty in place via two small holes by her ears. She also has moving arms, legs, tail and head.
All of the cat bedding can be taken out and of each playhouse and used independently… cats do like to have a nap in all kinds of places!
What Did We Think Of The 44 Cats Toys Range?
Fans of the show are going to love the 44 cats toys. The bright colours and familiar characters can be used act out their favourite scenes from the show.
I really loved the shape, feel, quality and colour of the musical soft toys. It’s easy to press the middle of the toy to get the sound to come out and it plays long enough for kids to have a quick dance or sing along. Because there are no hard parts the soft toys are suitable for babies and have an age rating of 0+.
The playsets are well made and I like how two of the play sets have incorporated the characters musical instruments. Lampo’s playset is the least interesting and is basically a big space with a chair that goes up and down. It’s lacking nooks and crannies to engage with.
Pilou and Milady, on the other hand, have lots going on in their playsets. there are doors to open, fans to twiddle, shelves to put food on, doors to open, gaps to crawl though. It allmakes for more interesting interaction between child and toy.
