Cricut Explore Custom T-Shirt – Anchor

I’ve been playing with my Cricut Explore again but this time I decided to make a custom T-Shirt for myself.

Cricut-Explore Vinyl Anchor T-Shirt

Anchors are currently on trend at the moment so I bought a cheap sleeveless T-shirt from a Supermarket (Tesco F&F £4) that had a nautical feel to it.

The next step was to choose an Anchor for my cutom t-shirt using the Cricut Explore software and size it to fit … I was a little torn between these two.

Anchor

The software tells you which setting to select for the cut which is a lot simpler than on my Cricut Mini.

In a couple of minutes the Cricut Explore was cutting … time to make a quick coffee!

Cricut Iron On Vinyl Cut

You can just peel away the excess vinyl but I like to cut around the shape and save the excess for any small projects (the vinyl needs to be kept on the backing sheet if you are going to re-use it). Leave a cm or so edge to allow you to stick the anchor in place.

Cricut Explore Vinyl

Position the anchor on your t-Shirt and iron in place as per the instruction.

Vinyl- Placement

I place a cotton t-towel on top of the Anchor and iron over that. Then once cooled I carefully peel of the plastic protective sheet. I place a cotton t-towel back on the anchor and give it a final iron

 NOTE

Be aware that the vinyl doesn’t have much give in it so position it where the fabric isn’t going to stretch too much. This isn’t as big a problem with text but larger shapes can become distorted as the fabric stretches around it.

What a great idea! I like the idea of designing t-shirts.. I have had the dream of running a t-shirt print business..Getting paid to make the designs you like..Seems pretty cool to me.

Let me know when you do your next post so I can keep an eye for your next design.

Wow that’s actually really cool. I’ve seen a lot of bloggers showing us the virtues of their Cricuts recently. I’m so craft-phobic (read, plain rubbish at it!) but I may have to give this one a go!
    Love the anchor you chose.

Glad you love the anchor. Always nervous when I press go as until it’s cut and positioned you’re not sure how it’s going to look.

This looks great! I have been debating whether to add an anchor to a maxi skirt that I bought… it’s definitely going to be sea themed somehow! x

So on trend! I’ve been looking through my wardrobe to see what I’ve got that could do with a bit of jazzing up with the Cricut Explore

I think your t-shirt looks great. I am currently debating whether to treat myself to a cricut. I really, really want one, the ability to cut fabric gets me all over excited!
