The Amazing Hatchimal Fabula Forest Puffatoo Comes To Play

We had an ‘eggstra’ special delivery recently (do you see what I did there?) much to the excitement of Ro and Ra.  It came all the way from land of Hatchtopia and was in need of lots of love and attention. It was a brand new species… A Hatchimal Fabula Forest Puffatoo!

The egg is easy to  unpackaged although younger children may require some help remove the two screw type things that secure the egg to it’s housing.

From the moment you get your egg its a very hands on experience. The first and arguable the most important phase is hatching your egg (I would highly recommend reading the instructions for before starting this so you’re clear about what to do before hatching takes place). Hatching an egg takes time and patience and requires rubbing rocking, talking listening, tapping and patting!

It’s quite a jaw dropping moment when you first start hearing and seeing the tap, tap tap of your Hatchimals little beak trying to break out of it’s egg. Yes, it really does do this all on it’s own!

Ro and Ra’s little Puffatoo seemed to break through one side of the shell more quickly hate the other so the girls gave him a helping hand by gently breaking away some of the pecked egg shell. It was very exciting seeing which Puffatoo they had got (there are two colour variations and you have no idea which one is in your egg!).

It was a little more tricky to get the Hatcnhimal out of the egg once we had taken the top off. Don’t be scared of giving it a big yank as your little Hatchimal has been tightly secured to the bottom of the egg to stop him getting damaged during his journey from Hatchtopia.

Phases of the Hatchimal Fabula Forest Puffatoo

Once hatched the fun continued as Ro and Ra nurtured their little Puffatoo from baby, to toddler and finally to the kid phase. Each time our Puffatto went on to the next stage (including being removed from the egg) he sang ‘Happy Birthday’.

The phases don’t take that long to work through, so depending on your child, their age and attention span they can grow up over a few days or over a couple of hours.

The instruction leaflet tells you what the different sounds and eye changes mean and what you have to with your hatcnhimal to keep him happy including teaching him to say new words (you record a short phrase/word that will repeated back).

Baby mode is all about understanding what the various eye colours mean.

Green eyes meant he was sick and Ro and Ra needed to Pet his head, Squeeze his belly or Tilt hm to make him better.

Purple eyes meant he was hungry and he needed to be Tilted forward so he could peck some food. There are lmany other eye colours to learn about in order to keep your little Hatchimal content.

In Toddler mode Ro and Ra also learnt to make their Puffatoo walk (via clapping their hands), dance and sing.

And in Kid Mode they got to have fun playing  Tune Tag, Musical Moves, and Rhythm Repeat.

With so many interactive toys on the market it takes something quite special to stand out which is just what the the Hatchimal Fabula Forest Puffatoo does. The mix of games and nurturing means that there’s plenty of fun to be had and just as importantly there’s a handy little off switch underneath for when parents need a little quiet time!

Hatchimals Fabula Forest are also available as  a Tigrette. They’re priced at £59.99 and can be bought at most good toy shops.
