Swizzels sent us a lovely bumper box of Love Heart sweeties and set us a valentines challenge to personalise and jazz up their super cute, Swizzels Love Hearts Tin, including the new (for 2019) heart eyes emoji tin… which I have to say is a pretty cool addition to their sweety empire!

Inside each tin are ten perfectly wrapped Love Heart Mini Rolls, full of love heart messages.
Now for me, Swizzels Love Hearts are the epitome of secret messages of love and friendship.
I can still remember carefully flicking through each pack of Love Hearts as a child, carefully selecting the perfect Love Heart message to give to friends and my girls do the same now! So with that in mind, I decided to personalise my tins with extra hidden messages on the inside, bottom, of the tin. And to do this I was going to need my Cricut Explore!
Using The Cricut
Cricut machines are amazing as they can cut all kinds of materials into all kinds of shapes. You can upload your own images to cut or you can use any of their free or ‘pay for’ image templates. For this project, I used white and pale pink vinyl and some of their free templates (You can see a few more Cricut projects here.).
I used the image ‘Love Valentine’ (#M92E077C) first which was perfect for the hidden message inside the Heart Eyes Emoji Tin.
Once the Cricut Explore has cut out your template, you carefully peel off the vinyl and stick it in place on your tin.
Swizzles Love Hearts Tin Personalisation
I covered the messages with a little shredded pink paper and then placed the Love heart Mini Rolls on top before putting the lid back on.
This tin used the ‘Sweet Valentine (#M92E0816) & “heart with Wings (#M3E09E) — see the image at top of the page.
And this used ‘Lips’ (#M8101BDF) and ‘Sweetie’ (#M82472A9) template. Perfect for use with the ‘For You’ tin.
Swizzels Love Hearts are the perfect gender neutral, age irrelevant, retro cool valentines gift you can buy IMHO. They epitomise a small, inexpensive, gesture of love that’s full of fun and giggles. I loved being able to easily personalise them and off course you get to have a cool trinket, complete with personalised message, once you’ve eaten the sweets!
