Although the sun was out today the air was chilled and it was a battle of wills to get the girls to wrap up warm as we prepared to head down to our beloved beach hut and enjoy the first weekend of the Easter holidays.
A lazy lunch of wholesome bread rolls, pasta salad, fruit and some warming coffee, mixed with fresh sea air, was just what was needed.
With jumpers and coats on, we headed down to the shore line to play in the sand and sea.
The sea groyne was the perfect place to sit and watch the girls run around in the sand squealing with delight. A neat bundle of shoes, socks, coats and cardigans sat in the pile on pebbles as the sun warmed them and they eventually dunked they toes into the icy water.
I just sat.
The rhythmic sound of the waves calming me as they moved backwards and forwards.
In a word
Bliss …
