For Mums Who Love Writing & Creativity
Laban 325 Fountain Pen – Ginkgo Edition
Writing with a fountain pen feels so much more special than typing, and it’s something I’ve come to appreciate again. Ink on paper feels personal and real. It takes time, requires presence in the moment, and carries a sense of permanence and thoughtfulness—making this the perfect choice for mums who love journaling, letter writing, or sketching.

I particularly love the Laban 325 Ginkgo Fountain Pen for its springtime feel. It’s beautifully made, writes effortlessly, and gives off bright summer and spring vibes, making it a joy to use. Plus, it perfectly matches the Esterbrook Butterfly! But if this vibrant shade isn’t your thing, they offer a stunning range of colours, including orange, pink, blue, green, turquoise, ice grey, and more.

For mums who love cosy comforts
Wool Blankets For Indoor And Outdoor Warmth
I love a warm and cosy wool blanket. They’re perfect for snuggling in on the sofa on winter nights, look gorgeous draped over sofas or beds, and are ideal for keeping warm outdoors during cool summer evenings. I store them in large wicker baskets by the back door in summer and in cosy corners of our living space during the winter. Each one tells a story—some were gifts from friends and family, others were bought during day trips. In fact, many of my favourites came from National Trust shops, which often have the best quality at the best prices!

DIY Pamper Hamper
A Homemade Pamper Hamper is the perfect way to create a personal gift for mum. You can mix DIY beauty products with her favourite candles and skincare treats, and even add in a good book to create a relaxing spa-like experience at home. It makes a gorgeous individualised treat, providing a moment to relax, unwind, and feel truly appreciated.

The Best Mother’s Day Gift? Time & Thoughtfulness
But sometimes, the greatest gift isn’t something you can wrap—it’s time, appreciation, and shared moments. Whether you see your mum every day, only on special occasions, or live far apart, there are always ways to make her feel loved.
For mums in busy households
Many mums spend their days juggling responsibilities and looking after everyone else. This Mother’s Day, why not give her a break?
- A morning of peace – Let her enjoy a lie-in with a cup of tea instead of rushing about first thing. There’s nothing more wonderful for a Mum than receiving a tray of spilt orange juice and breakfast cereal from their kids!
- A day free from chores – Cook a meal, tidy up, or simply take over the jobs she normally does. Allow her some time to ‘be still’ and ‘be seen’.
- A family day out – A walk through the woods, a picnic in the park, or an afternoon doing something she loves.
For adult children who don’t see their mum often
Distance shouldn’t mean missing out on Mother’s Day. Even if you can’t be there in person, you can still make it special:
- A surprise letter – Receiving a handwritten letter is a wonderful way to brighten her day.
- A virtual afternoon tea – Set up a video call and enjoy a cup of tea and cake together, just as if you were in the same room.
- Give her a call (and have something to say) – Ask about her life, what she’s doing, if she has any goals, and if there’s something you can help her with. Talk about shared memories, tell her you miss her, and listen to what she has to say (even if you’ve heard it a hundred times before!).
- A handmade letter or memory book – A collection of personal notes, drawings, or photos from loved ones.
