Why Use An Adjustable Standing Desk?
The key reason for using an adjustable standing desk is flexibility!
It allows individuals the ability to adjust body position and have some physical freedom not normally associated with long periods tied to a desk.
For a start, you can adjust the desk to suit individual chairs and stools. No more bent backs or piles of cushions!
But more importantly, the desk can be raised up to a standing position, whilst continuing to work, allowing the body to stretch and move. This is particularly good for anyone that finds sitting still for long periods of time difficult.

They sent me the Premium Series E8 adjustable desk to review and I’m not going to lie… it’s amazing!
The height is electronically controlled via an LED display. And the strong dual motor legs move smoothly and quietly up and down at the touch of a button.
The frame comes in two colours (white or black) and there are nine desktop finishes to choose from
- Maple
- White
- Bamboo

There are then desktop sizes and styles to choose from depending on the finish you choose.
We chose the maple finish which gave the following size options to choose from
- 120x60cm
- 160x80cm
- 180x80cm
- 140x70cm with a curved (inwards) front.
And chose the 120x60cm size.

It comes in three boxes; two make up the base and the third has the desktop.
Putting The E8 Adjustable Standing Desk Together
The E8 adjustable standing desk by Flexispot is well packed with all the parts easy to identify.
And it comes with everything you need to put it together (no extra tools required). And each sections has ndividual screws that are individually labelled, so you know exactly what size to use. Add in really straightforward intructions and you have a really easy buuild set up.
You will need space to build the desk as it is built upside down. And because of the weight of the base you will need at least one extra person to flip it the right way up.
Each part of the desk base is very well made and finished. The paint finish is smooth and consistent and all the screw holes lined up perfectly.
The desk top is supposed to be fitted whilst the frame is still upside down which makes it easier to adjust the frame to your desk top width. Plus screwing it in place and attaching the baffle, to keep the wires hidden, is much easier when it’s still upside down!
When finished the desk looks fantastic, provides a nice large work area (we had the smallest size) and works like a dream creating a work space that’s super flexible.
Using The LED Display
The LED Display is easy to use and has lots of functionality.
- The up and down arrows move the desk up and down. You can move the desk small increments by tapping the arrow. Or if you hold it down you will get movement until you take your finger off.
- M – can be used to set or unset the child lock. This stops the desk from being moved up and down.
- 1 & 2 are for saved height positions.
- the standing up figure is to save you standing height
- the sitting down figure is to save your preferred sitting height
- You can also set collision sensitivity with the panel. This has 5 settings and will cause the desk to reverse it’s motion if it hits an object in either direction.
There is also a handy USB port on the right hand side which is really handy!
What Did We Think Of The Flexispot E8 Premium Adjustable Standing Desk
As metioned earlier up the pageI love thFlexispot E8 Premium Adjustable Standing Desk. Infact, all three of my teenage girls and my OH love the desk.
It is amazingly easy to put together and use, and although heavier than most desks due to the sturdy telescopic legs it has a neat and compact feel about it. And this strength along with the build quality makes for such a beautiful movement when the desk is in use. Additionally, being able to choose from numerous desk top finishes and sizes means that most people will find something to suit their taste.
My eldest who has the desk in her room loves that she’s not bound to a chair when studying now she has the desk. She finds it hard to sit still for hours on end and often ends up pacing up and down in her room, just to release some energy. But that breaks her studying and can make her unprodcutive. The adjustable standing desk allows her the freedom to move and stretch whilst continuing to study.
My other two daughters like how smooth the transition form sitting to standing is and that by standing more people can get around the desk without it feeling cramped. This is an option that’s very good for homework or group surfing/zoom calls etc. They are also shorter than my eldest so they love that they can adjust the sitting down height to suit them!
I love the flexibility, the ease of build and the functionality. This is a table that has so many practical uses as well as looking slick and stylish.
I see a desk that’s key functionality is to create a dynamic fluid environment to work in and that can only have a positive impact on a work space.
