Materials Needed To Make T-shirt Yarn Bracelets
Materials You’ll Need
- T-shirt yarn (make your own or purchase premade.)
- Ribbon crimp ends (I used 10mm)
- 4mm jump rings
- Jewelry lobster clasps
- flat nose pliers and round nose pliers
- Contact adhesive style glue (optional)

How To Make T-shirt Yarn Bracelets

1. Measure and Cut the Yarn
Wrap the T-shirt yarn around your wrist twice and cut it to size. Use this piece as a guide to measure out two additional pieces. You should have three equal lengths.

2. Plait the Yarn
Tie a loose knot at one end of the three lengths. Then, plait (braid) the yarn tightly to the other end. To help with the plait you can:
- Ask someone to hold one end.
- Hold the end in your mouth.
- Pin it to a cushion.

3. Secure One End with a Ribbon Crimp
Prepare a ribbon crimp. Cut the end of the plaited yarn so it’s even, holding tightly to prevent unraveling.
Place the ribbon crimp over the cut end and press firmly with flat-nose pliers. If desired, apply a small amount of glue for added security.
Pro Tip: Cover the ends of your pliers with masking tape to avoid marking the crimp.

4. Secure the Other End
Undo the knot at the other end of the plait and repeat the process with another ribbon crimp.

5. Add the Clasp
Attach a jewelry lobster clasp using 4mm jump rings. Use flat nose pliers for easier handling of the jump rings.

Creative Variations
- Stackable Bracelets: Make multiple bracelets in different colors to wear together.
- Extra-long Wraps: Create longer plaits that wrap around the wrist twice or three times.
- Mix and Match: Add beads, charms, or other embellishments for a unique twist.

Oh these are so cute! A suggestion, for color variations I think it would be cool to make tie dye shirts to create a cool bracelet, and even some glitter too! Thanks for posting and inspiring me to think more creatively
